FAQs

Can we try a class first?

Yes. Book a £5 trial class first to make sure your child is happy before starting a monthly membership.

Is there a uniform?

No uniform, just active wear: shorts and a t-shirt, tracksuits, leggings or leotards (onesies are a fun favourite!). No jeans, skirts or dresses. Long hair tied up and no jewellery. Bare feet or grippy socks are both fine (no ordinary socks, as they're slippery). Most important: bring a bottle of water.

Can parents watch?

Not every week. Sessions are closed to parents so children can focus, but we try to bring parents in for a few minutes at their child's first session, and at least once a term for an open session or end-of-year performance.

Do classes run in the school holidays?

Weekly classes run in term time only, so there are no classes at half term or in the holidays. We run holiday camps in every school holiday except Christmas.

What happens after the trial?

Your child's place is held until the end of their trial session, and we send you the sign-up information straight after from [email protected] (if you can't see it, check your junk folder). Sign up straight after your trial to reserve your place, and it's covered by our 30-day guarantee.

Can I rearrange my trial?

Yes, once. Email [email protected] at least 2 days before the session. Trial payments are non-refundable, and if you give less than 2 days' notice or don't attend, a new trial will need to be booked.

How do monthly payments work?

Classes run on a rolling monthly subscription. You pay your first month (plus the £35 joining fee) when you sign up, then the same amount is taken automatically on the same date each month. There are no part-month or catch-up payments. The yearly cost of your child's 36–38 class weeks is spread evenly over 12 payments, so the amount is the same every month, including the school holidays and August. You don't need to rebook each term.

What fees are there when we join?

When you sign up you pay a one-off £35 joining fee plus your first month. The £30 annual membership fee per child isn't charged when you join: it's due every 1 September, starting on the first 1 September after you join.

What is the 30-day guarantee?

If Good Life isn't right for your child, use our Leaver form within 30 days of signing up and we'll refund everything you've paid (joining fee and class fees), keeping just £18 for each class your child attended. Refunds go back to the card you paid with. The guarantee also applies if you rejoin after leaving.

How do I cancel?

We're sorry to see you go! Just fill in our Leaver form and choose what suits you: cancel immediately (no more payments, and classes stop), one month's notice (one more payment, and your child can keep coming until the end of the following month) or end of term (payments continue until the end of the term you choose, and your child keeps coming until then). We'll email you to confirm your final payment and last class date. Please note we can't take cancellations by email, phone, WhatsApp or through a coach, and stopping your card payment doesn't cancel your membership.

Can we pause our membership?

Yes, for injury, illness or holidays: up to 1 month at a time and up to 2 months in any 12 months. Please let us know at least 7 days before your next payment date. We'll hold your child's place for up to 4 weeks, and there's no joining fee when you come back. We review each case individually, so please contact us.

What happens if a payment fails?

Our payment provider, Stripe, will automatically try again and email you a secure link to update your card. A member of our team will also get in touch personally to help.

What happens when my child moves up an age group?

Your place is ongoing. If your class covers more than one age range, your child simply carries on. If they're ready for the next age group, we'll contact you to move them into the right class, subject to space.

My child left something behind. What should I do?

Anything left behind stays at the venue. Please contact the venue or WhatsApp us on +44 7852 933174 (text only).

Can my child become a coach?

Yes! From age 13, our gymnasts can start training as Good Life Gymnastics coaches. See our Careers page.

What does my child need to bring to a holiday camp?

A packed lunch and plenty of snacks (nothing with nuts please), a large water bottle and active wear like shorts, t-shirts or tracksuits. Leotards are awesome; jeans and dresses are not.
